Our previous Yaris (2021) applied the 'emergancy brake' when we were at least 2-3 ft from the front of our house. It seems the new Yaris Cross does not do this (took delivery a few weeks ago of a Cross Excel)
It comes up with beeping and a 'horn' like sound when reversing into a tight spo) - not tried it up front yet as it is in anyway too long for the front of our driveway.
I'm hoping this is all it does and doesn't apply the emergency brake!
Any thoughts would be apperciated
:-}.
Pre-Collision - 'emergency brake'?
I got a bit of a shock the other day, Approaching a cross-roads on the main road, a cyclist was approaching very quickly from the LHS. The cyclist did stop, but with his front wheel marginally over the give way line. My Yaris Cross engaged automatic braking and brought the car to a stop. A bit scary, and the car behind me must have wondered what I was doing. The cyclist shrugged his shoulders! Better safe than an injured cyclist I suppose.
