Glove Box rattle
Anyone else had a rattling glove box? My Cross glove box states to rattle on rougher road surfaces. I have tried taking all the contents out but it still does it. I will be raising it with the dealer, meantime anyone else had this rectified? I have put a couple of pads on where the glove box contacts the sprung loaded "plungers" it was better at first, but still doing it a bit.
I have a 'buzzing/high pitched rattle' coming from a similar area which I am trying to 'pin point'. If I press the black shiny bit (2024 Excel model) above the ventilation controls it appears to stop for a while. I've also tried the glove box in the same way - appears - randomly - to do the same but not quite as well. Drives me nuts!
We know what happens when we report it to the dealership - we couldn't hear it mate'.
They don't take it out to test under the same conditions of course. When I had a Land rover Discovery Sport (PHEV) - they said the same. Basically its too much hassle and expensive for them to put much effort into finding the 'fault' if it's not in their list of known issues. Those who suffer from this should continue to make a fuss until it does!

Whilst I was in at the Toyota dealer there was a customer complaining about a rattle from his Yaris cross dash so it seems it’s a common problem.

I have the same annoying rattle coming from the dashboard area, just like Dannyson , if I push the shining plastic area below the sat nav it does seem to stop , originally I thought it was coming from the glovebox so it went back to the garage and they couldn’t find the rattle. I had the demo for the day whilst car was in and that had the same rattle too. I now turn the music up !!
