Re: About to be a new YC owner
I find that a good run of about 30 miles and the battery is fully vharged - 12.7v and 100% I have a battery monitor fixed to the battery and check it ocassionally. I put it on charge once a fortnight if not used too much. I also have a Noco GB 40 boost starter in the glove compartment just in case. ...

Re: New 130hp - anyone considering it?
At goodwood a few weeks ago a Toyota representative told me that a GR Yaris Cross is well under way. Lexus are bringing out the LBX Morizo (see on youtube) which is based on the Yaris Cross with the GR Yaris engine and other parts. It is 300hp and set up as a propper sports SUV. The GR Yaris cross w...

New 130hp - anyone considering it?
It looks to be only on the Premium and GR Sport. As the months go by with my Icon I am more impressed with the performance, lovely ride on my 16" wheels and all round usability. A review of the 130 the driver said he didn't notice the extra power till he pushed on at higher speeds. Another said...

Re: Flat Battery
You are correct Jonathan. I watched a battery technician and he explained that a 12v battery is technically flat when about 8-9v not zero as I used to think. It does only switch on all of the relay switches that allow the electronic components to work. It will still open the doors at that lower volt...

Re: Flat Battery
Update, Went for a good run on Monday and when I got home the battery was at about 12.8v and 98% on the BM2. I thought good, that shows it does need a run. The next morning I got a red warning from BM2 that it was at 65% and 12.1v. In the evening that was 56%. So, after reading many posts on differe...

Re: Flat Battery
Thanks for that jeffF. It clearly is a problem at the moment and all car manufacturers haven't got to grips with this issue. Had mine only 3 months now and CTEK charge it once a week. The the voltage on my phone this morning using the BM2 (battery monitor 2) said 12.45 volts so OK but the condition ...

Re: Flat Battery
The Yuasa battery is a better quality so that is a good thing if you have had it fitted. Am i correct in thinking this Yuasa 35ah battery above is the one they will / did fit for you? I wonder if they would fit the YBX5202 45 ah battery if we agreed to pay for it and they fit for free or is there a ...

Re: Is it good for short journeys?
I will do about 3k per year. I found out about the 12v problems just before pick-up. I am a car enthusiast. My Yaris Cross is my daily car for short runs. Have a GR Yaris for all of the longer drives out. The battery in that is 3 years old with a battery monitor fitted. Yesterday I checked that batt...

Re: Flat Battery
Has anyone said to their dealer that they would like to have a better make battery with a higher amp than the one Toyota fit at the factory. I am sure I have read that Toyota won't do that for some technical / warranty reason. It seems to me that a new - better - stronger battery is the first step t...

Re: Flat Battery
Yesterday I bought a voltage meter that plugs into the cig lighter. It showed 12.6v when the battery monitor 2 (BM2) was showing 12.3 before starting engine so close enough. It shows 14.5v when driving so is charging OK. Between that and the BM2 I should be able to judge when to put it onto the CTEK...
